Child Identity Theft Research

September 18th, 2007

Identity theft is very much in the headlines these days as Internet usage continues to rise and the acceptance of online shopping becomes more widespread. However one of the types of identity theft that receive very little coverage and goes largely unreported in child identity theft. This article will cover child identity theft research and give advice on the best ways to protect your child.

Children in the United States are given a social security number (SSN) at birth. This is a way of getting them into the system so that they can be traced by the government and also given benefits like health care. The SSN is a very important piece of information that can be used as a way to confirm identity, so, in theory it can be used in many ways. It can be used to register with a new doctor, when enrolling in a new school or even everyday things like signing up for a video card.

If this information falls into the hands of an identity thief then it can be used to open bank accounts, sign up for credit cards and many other deceptions. This could lead to using a credit card to rack up huge shopping sprees in the identity of another person.

In the case of children this is made worse because people don’t think to monitor a child’s credit report. They don’t think that a child will be spending money so they need think it is pointless. The bad credit history will only become apparent when the credit card companies send a letter to you or your child reaches an age to apply for a credit card and finds that their credit record is awful. This can severely disadvantage the child in getting loans and a head start in early adulthood.

The lessons to be learned from this are to keep the SSN safe and secure. Do not reveal it to anyone other than the IRS or maybe your local doctor. Get a credit check on your child’s name every so often. It will probably be fine but it pays to be safe and have this knowledge. Stay informed of the latest scams via the news and internet.

Simple Forex Trading System

September 10th, 2007

Here are some tips for choosing a simple forex trading system:

1. Look For a Real Time Track Record

This would seem obvious, but most forex traders
don’t look for the proof before buying and wonder why they lose!

Every system sold on the net comes with claims
but most of these are made with no substantiation at all, so ignore the:

“90% success rate”, “scalp 20 pips a day”, or
“earn a regular income”

Look for the proof.

Many vendors try and dupe investors, by giving a
hypothetical track record but if you look at the disclaimer - this is a track
record done in hindsight, knowing the closing prices!

Well, if I knew tomorrow’s prices today, I Would
be rich!

Unfortunately we don’t have that luxury of
knowing prices in advance when trading in the real world.

The first rule is – no real time track record
don’t buy it.

Team Building - How Flexible Are Your People Skills?

September 4th, 2007

Can you deal with a group of people under them with differing strengths and weaknesses? Can you deal with the many different personality types of your employees?

Your recruitment standards should be set up to identify if the recruit can provide direction for their team and themselves.

Leadership is all about setting the tone and directing the right people toward the right responsibilities. Can they facilitate changes when necessary?

Do they recognize when they need to act and have the skills to move their team into a new direction when needed?

Career Change Step One - Identify What Suits You

September 3rd, 2007

The first step one should take when considering a career change is to make a list of jobs you want to explore.

There are free career tests online to help you narrow down the list and decide what you want to focus on. Next you want to research your list. Take a good long list and research all the jobs on it.

Look into all aspects of these potential occupations you can think of.

Get a book from your local library so you can see all the good and potentially bad aspects of the occupations and get a book on career change while you are there. Career change can be scary but worthwhile.

What would bring you more happiness in your life? Are you looking for more money or are you more interested in affecting social change?

Assessment Center Activities You Might Experience

September 2nd, 2007

Group Discussions are often leaderless.

In this situation, a group of potential employees meet and discuss issues related to the job for which they are applying. As they talk, they are observed and evaluated by behavioral experts.

They are evaluated in terms of inter personal communication and whether or not they display any leadership skills. Sitting back during a group discussion is usually not evaluated well.

During Role Playing, job applicants act out scenarios they might encounter if hired as an employee of the company.

There is one person who is a trained scene player and they interact with employees in an improvised scene. The potential employees are evaluated on how they react during these improvised sessions and what kind of skills they project.

(c) 2007 How To Win At Assessment Centers. You can succeed in your application whenever you want to. It takes focus and preparation and above all, you need to know what you are doing. Checkout the free six-part e-course at Martin Haworth’s website,
